Do you love to travel?

Do you love to dance? (LOL at my posey self!!!)

Would you like to dance your way to the Philippines? :D
Because now you can, with the Cebu Pacific's "Search for the Juan Blogger" Contest!
Read on to find out more!

Cebu Pacific (PSE:CEB), the Philippines' largest national flag carrier, launches the “Search for the Juan Blogger” contest!

To stand a chance to be crowned “Cebu Pacific Juan Blogger”, all you have to do is to take part in a simple contest and share the contest mechanics with your blog readers as well! :)

The winner will be rewarded with CEB flights for two to four destinations in the Philippines, two nights hotel stays in each destination from Agoda.com, and US$ 2,000 travel allowances to four wonderful cities in the Philippines from VISA!

"Cebu Pacific has always been known for our upbeat flying experience, and young and fun culture.
In our search for a blogger ambassador, we want to find someone who embodies that same fun-loving spirit we have.
This is why we are very excited to watch the dance entries and see the creativity of bloggers from Singapore and Malaysia,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution.

“Juan,” in the Filipino language, refers to the everyman, a key market for CEB given its
trademark low fares.
"This is also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a blogger and his or her companion to explore the Philippines, and to share these adventures to the world through their blog," added Iyog.

The “CEB Juan Blogger” will have the opportunity to travel to key cities that CEB flies direct to from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur: the bustling Manila metropolis for its shopping indulgences, picture-perfect sunsets in Manila Bay, and exciting nightlife, and Cebu for its enchanting Spanish history, pristine beaches and delectable cuisine.

The airline also flies direct from Singapore to Clark, which offers a wide range of entertainment and historical attractions, and to Iloilo, famed for the Dinagyang Festival’s colourful street dances and the region’s gastronomic delights.
The winner can also choose to hop-on to any of the 28 other domestic destinations, such as Boracay (Kalibo) or Davao.
Creators of the other top nine videos can also walk away with a pair of tickets each from Singapore to Iloilo or from Kuala Lumpur to Cebu.

Impress the public with our own most creative Cebu Pacific safety demo dance moves
and stand a chance to win free flights, hotel stays and travel allowances to the Philippines?

For my video submission for the Cebu Pacific's "Search for the Juan Blogger" Contest,
I decided to make some props because I think props might help in the competition :)
In the reference video embedded above with the flight attendants dancing, I was inspired to make an emergency oxygen mask because it looked the easiest to make (compared to a life jacket).

So I decided to buy yellow coloured disposable cups (I can use it when I have parties at home as well haha),
and then attach it with the transparent plastic bags I have at home to store food stuff :)
I also printed and traced the image of the print on the actual oxygen mask onto the plastic bag using a permanent marker,
to make it look more convincing!
Then I used some white string that my mum uses for sewing to be the straps!

The best part is that you can actually "pull straps to tighten" and the bag will inflate when you breathe into the cup,
just like the real oxygen mask hahah, it's super amusing!
Sadly, our dance routine's main focus was the "Life Vest" part instead of the "Oxygen Mask" part of the Safety Dance Music so we didn't get to use it :(
So I'll just leave it as a mini tutorial on how to make your own oxygen mask, especially if you're going to use that part of the music for your dance! :D

For our outfit, I actually TRIED to make a life vest out of the brown wrapping paper that I have at home, but it wouldn't stop flying around when I tried to dance with it and it was really distracting haha!
So in the end, I settled with denim VESTS (since it was to simulate life VESTS haha), and also a cute black skirt as the outfit :)
I also got 2 of my girlfriends to help choreograph and do the safety dance with me and they were very sporting! Yay :D
The shades and the kitty hats were just additional attempts to make us look more standardized for the dance!

And by the way, our group name is called "The P.P.G.s" because we used to call ourselves PowerPuff Girls during our JC days because we're about the same height/size :p

As mentioned above, we picked the "Life Vest" part (0:43 to 1:23) from the Safety Dance Music for our video :)
I think our dance steps turned out quite coherent with the instructions of the safety dance music and we were really proud of it! :D :D

For example,
"your individual life vest can be found underneath your seat" = hands slide downward action
"when outside the aircraft, jerk inflation tags to inflate vest" = step forward and pull imaginary inflation tags

And after some practice, here's our final video! :D

Of course, we made a lot of silly mistakes, forgot some steps and were stumped about what dance moves to put in as well!
Here's a compilation of our safety dance bloopers and random other things we did while recording it :P
And there was a period of time when I COULDN'T stop bumping into Jaslyn... and I had no idea why LOL!

But at the end of the day, it went pretty well and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly!
Trust me, it'd be awesome if you joined this competition with your close friends because it is SO MUCH FUN!! :D
Also, the minimum requirement for the safety dance video is only 30 seconds,
so it really doesn't matter even if you're an amateur at dancing like I am hahaha!

So get your cameras or webcams now and dance like no one's looking!
It's all in the name of fun! :D

Who knows? You may just be the “Cebu Pacific Juan Blogger”!
