A lot of my friends went overseas recently and I kinda wanted a bit of the getaway feel too!!
But because planning a holiday requires quite a bit of effort and money, plus I'll also require others' free time to go with me etc,
my boyfriend and I decided to go to St John's Island to get away from our bustling city for a day cause it's only $18 per pax (if I didn't rmb wrongly) and about 45 minutes away! ^~^
YOU DO NOT NEED A PASSPORT FOR THIS BTW!
Do watch this Us at St John's Island video hehe!! :D
To get to St John's Island, you have to take a boat at South Marina Pier.
We actually prepared a bit of snacks before we went there cause we were afraid there won't be any shops that sold food there,
but in the end we'd worried for nothing!
There's a provision shop at South Marina Pier that sells a ton of snacks, food and drink items!
Got our tickets and the ferry schedule!
Don't lose this slip because there're fixed timings where the ferry fetches you back from the islands (including Kusu Island), so make sure to plan your timing correctly!
And this is why you need a watch haha xD
And it's even better if your watch is chio so you can take nice photos with it :P
Got my Daniel Wellington watch, Steel Ball Femenino and Lapis Lazuli 3.1 bracelets from
We arrived about an hour before the ferry time cause we're kiasu,
but that's awesome too cause we get to explore around the area!! :D
The water looked so pretty and blue-greenish! ^~^
One thing that pisses me off the most is when I see rubbish in the water.
Like on a clean pristine beach, suddenly some empty plastic bottles appear @_@
DON'T EVER THROW YOUR RUBBISH INTO THE SEA.
You might think it's just one tiny trash item in a big ocean... WRONG.
Because it's ONE item floating on a clear slate of blue, that's when it's the most annoying.
Like why the hell would you throw it in in the first place?
If you bother to lift your hand up and throw something into the ocean, why can't you just throw it into the rubbish bin?
You'll like it if someone throws crap into your house and then just walk away meh? :@
*breathe in breathe out*
okay, small rant done~
Because we had about 50 minutes to spare, we decided to go check out the Singapore Maritine Gallery at South Marina Pier!
FREE ADMISSION plus lots of cool stuff to see, why not? :D
They have quite a bit of interactive stuff for you to try there to understand more about our port activities!
I LOVE THE MODELS OF THE VESSELS!!!
damn damn nice I couldn't stop staring at them!
THE LITTLE BOATS WILL MOVE FROM STATION TO STATION, SO EXCITING DE!!
Big metal container as their wall design, cool! ^~^
And then we saw this Ship Bridge Simulator and decided to give it a try!!! :D
CAPTAIN RACHELL REPORTING FOR DUTY!!!
So serious about it hahah
Martin tried it too!
Can you see all the cargo we're carrying on the screen? :D
All the surrounding screens make you feel like you're really at sea driving a few thousand tonnes cargo ship!
PLUS THE WHOLE PLACE MOVESSSSS
Like you'll feel a bit of turbulence when there're waves or if you suddenly turn the steering wheel too much!!!
Quite realistic and super fun eh!!! :D
All the cool gadgets by the side!
The simulator has a mission for you to complete, but we kinda sucked at it so we didn't make it in the given time T~T
Go try this out yourselves, maybe you'll end up finding your inner captain potential!! ^~^
I really can't believe there weren't much people there when we went?
It's quite a cool and fun place where you get to try out stuff and learn facts about Singapore's history as well as how much we've progressed
Plus it's so clean and fully air-conditioned!!!
AND FREE-ADMISSION LEH???
I demand that more people go check this place out and send me pictures of you being there!!!
But be considerate and even if you play with your friends be careful not to break anything okay!
I'm sure a lot of people put in a lot of effort for this so please appreciate it!! ^~^
And there's also a small playground and level 3 for the inner child in you hahah xD
M IS FOR MARTIN!!! :D
And then it was time for us to board the ferry!!!
St John's Island here we come!!!
Too many pictures (122 in total) to be squeezed into one post, so I'm splitting it up into 3 posts! :D
Watch this space for my next update!!
Love you all, thank you for reading!
