Physiogel: Ready For Anything

With blogging as my full-time job, not only do I have to be my own photographer, my own model, my own photo editor, my own writer,
I also try my best to juggle between meetings with clients, occasional filming sessions, attending of events, spending quality time with my family and my boyfriend and of course, in the midst of all that, squeeze in some me-time!

And I'm not alone.
This is pretty much the lives of many busy, young Singaporean women, albeit from different industries with varying job scopes from myself.
Singaporean women are known for their strong and independent characters, empowered and ready to excel in all of our endeavors! :D

Just this week, I've had to travel to the West side for an assignment, make my way to the NuffnangSG office for filming, hop over to several cafes for reviews, attend a meeting with clients, head down to a flea market, attend our company's event & more!
My job requires me to be spontaneous and ready enough to travel to and fro when it comes to back-to-back events.
And while my body never fails me physically (phew!), my skin definitely needs to buck up and be as ready as I am all the time!

Working hard day to day under the harshness of our summer all year round climate,
we often find ourselves stuck with one of women's greatest nemesis - dry and irritated skin.
With Singapore being a modern, urban metropolis, environmental pollutants are highly inevitable.
Although the effects don't appear overnight, haze & pollution actually irritates our skin, causing it to lose moisture and become dry and aged,
and this is in fact a really common problem among women.

I'm totally alright with taking public transport, but the only thing I hate is feeling like my skin super exposed to the pollution in the air while waiting for the buses :/

Also, I know this next point is kinda like I asked for it,
but just think of this as an occupational hazard hahah xD
Sometimes outfit photos simply look better when taken at dilapidated places with some kind of abandoned vibe to it which I really like~~~
But these places permeated with dust are probably the worst for our skin.
After shooting at locations like this, I simply can't wait to head home to wash it all off D;

The worst was probably during the haze period when PSI went up to 400+.
When the haze wasn't at its peak yet (like PSI 200+), work still went on as usual.
We had N95 masks to protect us from breathing in the dangerous particles, but our skin was just absorbing all that crap with no proper protection at all :S
I'm shuddering just thinking of how much awful things I've put my skin through,
I'm so sorry skin T~T

I guess that's why there was a period of time my skin got really sensitive and irritated.

It's one of my major pet peeves to see my skin dry and flaky, as if it belonged to a woman twice my age :(
It totally affects my self-esteem when I look into the mirror and see a dull reflection staring back at me, without that glow of confidence.
On days when I feel more self-conscious about my skin, I would opt for more conservative outfits to conceal my arms and even my legs
and it really bums me out when my outfit choices are limited by my skin's condition.

I realised that a lot of girls (myself included) focus too much on our facial complexion and end up neglecting the skin on our forearms and legs.

While we're ever-ready for close ups for portrait photos, the moment someone notices our arms or legs, we'll start feeling conscious and try to hide them :/

Now enough is enough, no more hiding.
I want to be confident, I want to stand proud, I want to stand tall.
If there's a problem or something I'm not satisfied with, I'll find a way to fix it!

While the obvious answer would be "Use a daily moisturizer", I'm extremely selective about the moisturizers that I'm willing to use,
which is why when I come across something which isn't up to my standard, I'd rather just leave my skin to rot from the haze and pollution attacks (lol getting a little dramatic here) and use nothing at all hahah!

My ideal choice of moisturizer would not only have to be effective (obviously~), but also fulfill the following criteria:
1. No sticky touch to it
2. Must be strong enough to protect me throughout the day
3. Must be easy to wash off with body wash in the shower
4. I know that point 2 and point 3 kind of contradicts each other, but that's what super demanding consumers like myself ask for :x
5. Quick and easy to use packaging

I was recently introduced to Physiogel, and after using it for about week, I was pleasantly surprised!
Here's a little timeline of what my typical day with Physiogel is like!

0800 h - Morning Routine
Took me less than 3 minutes to apply Physiogel lotion over my entire body.
I have the easily accessible packaging to thank!

0900 h - Breakfast
Skin feels soft and supple, it feels great to know that I can walk out of here knowing that I'm protected from top to toe from pollutions and haze!!
I feel invincible!!!

1200 h - Meeting over lunch
Crossed my legs and realised my kneecaps feel really soft.
Trying not to smile to myself but I'm secretly really happy xD

1500 h - Date with boyfriend
Holding hands actually feels exciting (again) cause I know for sure that my palm doesn't feel rough nor dry!
Glad to have applied the Physiogel hand cream earlier today ^~^

1900 h - Dinner with the family!
The body moisturizer is still going strong although it's been more than 10 hours!
I don't feel any stickiness from it but I know it's still there cause my skin still feels nice :D

2100 h - Bath Time
Physiogel body lotion washes off really easily when I used the Physiogel cleanser.
My skin feels fresh!
Ready for bed & can't wait for another day full of activities and awesome skin!

About Physiogel

Physiogel has a long tradition of skin care solutions as it is under Stiefel,
which has over 160 years of experience in dermatology!
Creams from Physiogel:
✓ contains advanced DMS technology
✓ are hypoallergenic - no preservatives, perfumes or dyes
✓ strengthen & repairs the skin's moisture barrier
✓ provides long lasting moisturization

Physiogel also contains ingredients similar to lipids found in the skin,
which means it'll work naturally with your dry and sensitive skin to repair its natural moisture barrier
to help keep moisture in and irritants out!

I've been using the Physiogel body lotion, cream and cleanser, and I'm super reliant on them now hahah!

First of all, I'll cleanse my skin during my shower with the Physiogel Cleanser ^~^
It's soap-free and designed to cleanse and help soften dry and sensitive skin!

I totally love how smooth and mild it feels on my skin~

In fact it's so mild it is suitable for babies :D
And you can cleanse using it with or without water!

Gentle but thorough cleansing with the Physiogel Cleanser! :D

After cleansing, it's time to moisturize my skin!
I leave the Physiogel Body Lotion in my bathroom so that I'll always remember to apply lotion all over my body after a shower.
That is undeniably the best time for our skin to absorb the beneficial ingredients! ^~^

The lotion is meant to nourish and repair the moisture barrier in dry and sensitive skin,
and my skin feels less dry and tight after applying it for a week! :D

The consistency is pretty light and easy to spread around, so applying it is really easy!

By the way, the lotion doesn't require re-applying throughout the day! ^~^

Also, my skin's been feeling less sensitive than before!

As for the Physiogel Cream, I place it downstairs on my computer table so that it's within reach whenever my hands feel dry from being in the air-conditioned room for too long.

And on days when I'm in a super good mood, I'll also conveniently slip it into my bag and bring it out to apply during the day! :P

By far my best cream ever!!!

My Verdict:
Physiogel is a clear choice for me as it not only fulfills all the selection criteria I've listed above,
but it surpasses my expectations too!
My skin feels fresh and soft just after 7 days of using the Physiogel cream and body lotion,
even when I don't have moisturizer on my skin at the moment.

That to me is proof that Physiogel isn't just a temporary protection for my skin against the daily environmental elements,
but it actually improves my skin's texture from within too! :D
Also, it leaves me assured that my skin is protected from haze and pollution while I'm out so I can go about with my day of activities at ease!

Physiogel is truly an optimal solution to dry, irritated and even red skin because it works naturally with our skin to make it less dry and sensitive!

Physiogel. For skin that's ready for anything.
Clinically proven to strengthen & repair the skin's moisture barrier.

With one of the big sources of my insecurities eliminated,
I can now loudly say that I am ready for anything! :)

Hi Rachell!!

Singapore's weather is so humid and hot that we really need a good sunblock to protect us from those harmful UVA/UVB rays (not to mention those pollutants) that is everywhere!

People often make the mistake of protecting the face and not the body! thus a good moisturiser for the body is also essential to protect us from all the pollutants out there too!

Eventhough my skin is already so fair (that i ALWAYS get mistaken for not being a Singaporean), I still insisted on putting sunblock/moisturiser to protect my skin and remain fair! Thus I will really like to win this set of Physiogel Beauty Box to continue with my 'Stay Fair Campaign' :P

Hello Rachell!

I totally agree with you that we need some protection from the weather and pollution in Sg.
I have very dry skind actually, and my legs are so dry that it's flaky. I actually tried many different lotions, and none actually helps me to feel more hydrated. Those that hydrates my skin leaves an oily thick feeling even after hours of application. And I hate the perfumed smell of some lotions.

And I ended up using no lotions at all, and my skin condition actually got so much worst. Nowadays I can totally feel my skin flaking off even when I'm at home and not in an air conditioned room. And to think I'm only 20. My mum has the same problems with her legs as well.

I hope I can get a chance to try out Physiogel with my mum, and improve my skin condition!!

Side track: Thanks for always blogging about your life, your travels, your outfits, and sharing about good products even if it's a paid ad! I like reading your blog because some of the things you do is so creative! Like the starbucks bracelet and your recent Christmas larty with your family! Please continue blogging!! ^^

Hi Rachell!

I felt that it was essential for me to keep my skin good is all due to Singapore's weather! It's so unpredictable as it could get crazy humid and then another day could go wet and cold. I have extremely sensitive skin so it affects me a lot. I've always been wanting to find a product that could cater to my skin type and I hope Physiogel could do the job! ^_^

Hello! ;)
Hmm... The reason why I feel like good skin is essential for me, is partly because it boosts up my confidence level (like how you mentioned in your post) so I can wear dresses or outfits I desire. The other thing about it is that it expresses out my inner-shine. Not something dull, dry and not taken care of. Therefore, with these factors, I can embrace my Singapore lifestyle! { ^•^ }

Ps. Thanks for putting in hard work and effort in your posts, its obvious and I love reading em'. <3

Hello Rachell!

Good skin is really important because it is so attractive. I recently just started on proper skincare routine. I hope to win the Physiogel products because I sleep with the aircon on. This is really damaging to the skin as it is drying. Hence, I hope I will be able to apply Physiogel on my legs and hands everyday like you so that I can have soft and smooth skin! ^^ Thank u!

Hi Rachell!!

I've really dry and uneven skin on my legs since years now.. It's so dry to the extend that my skin cracks and looks really scale-like! I've been wanting to try out physiogel for the longest time because I've heard many raves about it myself but the price is not too friendly for a student's wallet :(

I've tried out tons of moisturizers but nothing ever seems to cure my dry skin!! I think this would be the best chance for me to try out physiogel and to finally see some light in solving my dry skin problem.

Thank you for your generosity for reading this comment! :)

Hi, i have really sensitive skin and eczema, people have always recommended this to me but i have yet to try this out! i hope to win this hamper as i desperately need a cleanser/lotion that is suitable for my skin type and hopefully give me healthy skin:)

Hi Rachell!

Well what's more Singaporean than bingeing on instant noodles when you're lazy to cook/buy food haha. But I heard the preservatives in it dries your skin & hair >< so I guess in order to continue my Singaporean instant noodles lifestyle I would have to consistently use physiogel haha. I don't like creams that have a strong scent either so physiogel sounds really good!

Thanks for reading! Stay happy and spunky! ;)

Hi Rachel , The Reason why i feel that having good skin is essential for me to embraced on my singapore lifestyle is because i think that firstly singapore weather is either too hot or too cold so it is best to consistently have smooth and clear skin so that when people see or in contact with u will not be scared off by the roughness or super dry skin and lastly and the most importantly is that having good skin is equal to have great confident in meeting or handling any situation ~ and my email address is :

hey Rachell

I recently just came back from tiwanand the weather there was so cold. came back with super dry skin and cracks on my skin.

it makes me feel so ugly and i cant help but tries to cover it up.

i think it is important to have good skin as Singapore's weather can sometimes be a killing hot and shorts are definitely a need. but with such ugly skin i wont dare to walk out of my house without covering it. i wont have the confidence to go out.

further more people on street will tend to look and comment on it. i am in such a dilemma as i have veey sensitive skin and i dun know which brand i should go for and try.

but after reading your post you said is suitable for sensitive skin i hope to be chosen for your giveaway.

i hope to have as much confidence like you.

Hi Rachell! Thank you for holding the giveaway and this post is truly done so well it has successfully convinced me to try out Physiogel myself. But of course, as a kiasu Singaporean, got trial to try of course try first right? :P

Anyway, I am born with sensitive skin and living in a country with only one season and humid weather only makes my skin condition worse. I have been trying out different products but either they become too oily or they simply can't last through the day. I am very tempted to give this product a try since it is neither oily and it lasts!

I believe giving my skin a good pampering is the least I can do after all the harsh conditions my skin went through and I really hope to win the giveaway so that I can try out for myself to see if it works for me before I purchase them for my future use.

My email address is Thank you! :)

Hi rachell, as I am always known as the tanned girl, my skin are so dry and dull as we are constantly exposed to our sunny island.
Besides the sun, we are exposed to germs and thus more bathing and cleaning is done and cause our skin to be even drier.
I am also always embarrassed to shake people's hand as my skin is rough.
Hopefully I can win the package and pam per my skin and will definately continuing to support physiol products after trying.thanks :)

Hi Rachel,

I think having good skin is essential because its really what gives me confidence throughout the day. Your face is always the first thing that anyone notices, so even if you're not super pretty, having good and bright skin still makes you look really approachable and friendly! And you're right, Singapore's weather can be quite unpredictable... and even if the weather is humid... it doesn't mean our skin will be soft and nice :(

That's why I think its really important :) Hope you have a good day <3 !

Hi Rachell

No doubt the best nourishing skin is needed to survive this hot weather in Singapore! And I have a bad habit to keep washing my hands because I feel that everything I touched is dirty! So all these washing dries my hands easily. I would like to try this to ward off the dry skin!

Have a good day!

Hello Rachel :)

Singapore's hot and humid weather makes my skin dry and irritated, especially after shower. I have to constantly apply moisturizer otherwise, I will have dry and scaly skin which makes me feel unconfident when wearing shorts. However, it's too hot to always wear jeans in Singapore! Therefore i feel that good skin is important for me to embrace my singapore lifestyle.

CHRISTINAwhh said...

Hello Rachel! :)

I've been battling dry skin for the longest time ever (few years already!!) and I totally hate it.

Times when its more obedient, it gets slightly dry and everything went back to normal after I put on moisturizer. But there are also times when it just wanna give me a hard time no matter what I did! It starts to flake and get soooo itchy that I can't concentrate on other stuffs except trying to refrain myself from scratching :(
And there will be days when I can't tahan and went forward with scratching.. Which results in red, blotchy and sometimes it will even tear, causing it to bleed. URGHHHH!!

It's real annoying and I have tried all sorts of ways to cure it but it seems like nothing I did ever helped.

Singapore's crazy PMS weather is a huge problem too but we can't change that fact so we can only use lotions/ moistuziers to help us!

Because of my dry skin, I am very conscious of my legs as it was so dry it looked so scaly! I even got a nickname "Snakey" by my friends last time :(

My confidence level was really low and had been trying to cover up these areas in order not to get made fun of.. I know they meant no harm but it sure hurts a lot to be poked fun of something I'm very insecure about already.

So having good skin is essential because it boosts our confidence level plus add bonus points to our overall appearance (first impressions) and not to forget, it increases our happiness level as we will not fret over these issues anymore!

Hopefully I will get to win this giveaway and try out these products as it seems real promising!

Thank you!! For this giveaway, for reading my woes and sharing this great product with us.
Stay pretty and happy babe! Happy 2015 ^^

Hello there! :D

Good skin is important for me because it gives me confidence to start the day right. Its the same as a good hair day, but for hair if its REALLY terrible can always bun it up but SKIN CANNOT BE HIDDEN (especially in hot hot Singapore weather!)

Basically, having good skin in the morning and putting lotion to make it soft and supple just lets me feel happy the entire day.

The Singapore weather is hot and humid. And the singaporean lifestyle is one that forces us to embrace that. Many singaporeans suffer from sensitive skin due to the weather. We break out in perspiration and our skin starts producing oil and we look gross.

The singaporean lifestyle is very simple - we eat, shop, and enjoy life to the fullest extent 24/7 in this weather that we are familiar with. But we want to look good while doing it. We want to look and feel good while taking OOTDs, while shopping, while hanging out at the beach, while clubbing at night, and to do that and feel good at the same time, good skin is a real bonus point. Because when you look good, you feel good, and the energy you transmit is fantastic as well. Energy is infectious, when people feel your good vibes they automatically feel the same, and we can all do with some positivity in this world.

I think people really underestimate the powers good skin can do to your self-esteem, and i with this product we can all be a step closer to that.

Thanks for reading!

Singapore's weather is always changing tho we do not have four seasons. Singapore's temperature is considered quite hot. When we at outdoor for too long, the sun burns our skin's cell, when we at indoor with air conditioned everywhere, our skin becomes too dry. I would like to win these to be able to smoothen my skin and keep it hydrated. My skin feels good, I will feel more confident.

Thank you.

Hi Rachell,

As Singapore is known for it's prime location near the equator with the current global warming issue happening around the world, good skin is not just essential in Singapore but other countries as well!

Needless to say, experiencing the both hot and rainy season in Singapore is one of the main cause of my skin dryness, not just my face! Most of the moisturizers I've tried don't really seem to be working as I can't find any reputable brand that I can rely on.

All in all, Good skin is essential for me to embrace the Singapore lifestyle as I need soft and bouncy skin in building up my confidence whenever I'm making physical contact with my friends or even strangers i.e. shaking hands and giving hugs :D and my email address is

Hi Rachell,

I have very sensitive skin and enzyme problems but ever since using Physiogel, my skin has improved a lot! I apply the moisturizer diligently every day to keep the enzyme from acting up, especially in the humid weather in Singapore. Physiogel lotion is also my essential item to bring along on my travels especially in cold countries when my skin will become very dry.

I would love to get the hamper with the trial-sized packs as they are really convenient to bring around and abroad! I would also want to try out other products of Physiogel such as the cleanser :)

Thank you!

Hey there Rachell!!
The reason why a good skin is important to me. is because , I am a student and I always walk to school no matter whether it rain or shine . Walking under the sun dehydrates my skin and I sometimes find my skin dry , and also rashes develops on my lower leg sometimes due to dryness too. I used different products but it just doesn't help at all. Hearing good things about this product & also recommendation from my fellow friends about this brand , I have always wanted to give it a try .

Hi Rachell!

Why do i feel that good skin is essential for me to embrace your Singapore lifestyle?

Firstly, the weather in Singapore is VERY unpredictable. Hot and rainy, wet and dry. It could be very windy or cooling today and humid just by the next day. Hence, i believe this leads to my skin no being able to adapt to the weather so quickly that it is very dry and flaky most of the times.

Secondly, not only outdoors. Im a student and lessons are held in air-conditioned rooms. Lecture halls, tutorial rooms, all air conditioned. This is also one of the reasons that my skin is left dry all the time, especially at the end of the day.

From what i have read from your blogpost, ive learnt that Physiogel works very naturally to keep skin moist and at the same time, strengthens and repairs it.

Ive never tried any moisturisers and i have always been wanting to get one for myself. however, i havent as im not very confident with products and afraid that i would be wasting my money on buying products of little use. :(

I really hope i could win the hamper so that i can bring it around with me everywhere i go. :D And since it is individually packed, i would want to share them with my boyfriend who is in the army now. (The weather harms his skin :( ) and also share them with my family who are working adults working in air-conditioned environment. :(

At the same time upon winning it, i could be more confident to wear pretty clothes out and not always long sleeves to hide my dry skin.

Hope i could give it a try!! :/

Thank You!!!

Hi Rachell!

Having rough knees and elbows is really a problem for me. They look so obvious in photos and I get so self-conscious when someone touches them. I guess being photo-ready is an important part of the Singapore lifestyle (: I think the Physiogel Cleanser will be a wonderful addition to my life and make me feel comfortable in my smooth skin.

Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

Hi Rachell,

Im working in the events industry and i have to be out in the sun and in the air conditioned room from time to time hence my skin is stressed out from the harsh weather condition especially in Singapore, and it doesnt help my dry skin condition at all!

I have really dry skin on my body and all of the body creams out there in the market dont quite work for me. However after reading your post on physiogel, i really want to win the hamper so i can have soft and beautiful skin that i have always yearned for.

I really hope to win this fabulous range of products so i can share it with my friends and family on how i achieve soft and supple skin despite my hectic working schedule.

With thanks,

Hi Rachell ! :)

Personally, i have a skin condition that is inherited from my family which is called Ichthyosis. Even though it is not as serious as those pictures you find on the internet, but it certainly affects me a lot in my daily life. I was often called 'sporty' even though i don't really do any outdoor activities. It is all because of my dull looking skin that makes me look rather tanned. :( Worse of all, living in the hot and humid Singapore makes my skin super flaky and dry and i just want to scrape them off~ I have heard of Physiogel but have never tried it before.

Hence i hope to win this giveaway so that i can "revive" my skin with a healthier glow !

Thank you for hosting this giveaway ~^^

Hello Rachell!!
I've been search for suitable skincare products for my skin for a long time.. Hopefully this will work for me :)
SG weather has been changing every now and then, making my skin more sensitive and prone to breakouts.. The air is getting dryer and dustier which make our pores suffer 😢 hence its important for us to take good care of our skin if we want to remain our youthful look :)
