Disclaimer 2: If you're expecting a barbie doll to come out of my double eyelid surgery, I'm so sorry I'm going to have to disappoint you!

I think I look more or less the same as I did before, except with double eyelids.

The effect of the surgery is actually just like putting on double eyelid tapes as I used to do!

Except now I won't have to put the tapes so it saves me timeeee!!! :) Love it!

2. How did I decide which doctor is trustworthy?

Read a TON of forums (directed from Google search)

Checked out their recommended doctors, especially those people who mention "I did my surgery with Dr XXYYZZ"

Email a few doctors and book appointment for consultation

3. What did I ask the surgeon during consultation?

**by the way, you need to pay for consultation as well. depending on the doctor and the length of the consultation, the fee should be between $5o to $100

I asked about if there would be any scars

I asked if parallel eyelids were achievable (actually I didn't mind tapered double eyelids as long as I had double eyelids, so I guess I got lucky!)

The doctor also used a tool on my eyelids to show me how the eyelids would look like

I asked about the cost$$$ (About $2 to $3k, if I'm not wrong this is the local average market rate)

I asked about recovery time, for me to better schedule the operation so that I won't miss any important things (like exams or meetings etc)

I asked about the risks I've read about online (eg. eyelids flipping back to single eyelids)

I asked about the level of pain so at least I'll be mentally prepared

Okay I think that's all I can remember..

But you really need to ask questions that YOU yourself are really concerned about.

Most importantly, you need to have faith in the doctor that he knows what he's doing and you are comfortable with telling him your concerns or asking questions.

DON'T EVER DO A SURGERY WITHOUT PROPER MENTAL PREPARATION AND BEING WELL-INFORMED.

Once I have confirmed the surgery..

4. What did I do before surgery?

I avoided seafood, spicy things, black-looking food (soy sauce, bubble tea pearls etc) days before the surgery.

I tried to get sufficient rest but honestly I was too nervous to sleep well haha

5. Day of surgery, how was it like?

I went to the clinic, final checks of the height of the double eyelids I want (high range or low range etc), the doctor measured it and drew markings on my eyelids. I must say Dr Tay was very precise and measured, re-measured, and measured again just to make sure everything was equal.

During the surgery I wasn't fully asleep although my eyes were totally numb and there was no pain at all. The injection was just to make you slightly drowsy, but in-between the doctor MAY ask you to look up to let him see your eyelids etc just to make sure. But it didn't happen for my case so I laid down throughout.

Once the surgery was over, the nurse gave me a cold pack to compress on my eyes to reduce the swelling and I slept for awhile before I was allowed to go home.

TIP: BRING A PAIR OF SHADES! And it'll be good if you had someone to fetch you home, accompany you home or at least take a cab most. If you watched my earlier posts about my double eyelid surgery, you would have heard me say that it was really hard to open my eyes and I felt really sleepy.

6. What did I do after surgery?

I stayed home for a WEEK with ice pack over my eyes 90% of the time, not touching the computer nor television cause I didn't want to strain my eyes, AND I ALMOST DIED.

Okay I'm kidding, just probably bored to death.... So try to get people to talk to you over the phone or accompany you in your room.

I dared not apply ANY make up or put on contact lens, continued avoiding seafood, spicy food, black-food to prevent infection or black spots on the stitching and all. Kiasu, you know?

The nurse will also arrange follow ups after the surgery to make sure everything is going well.

Felt like I was in super safe hands! :)

7. How long did it take for my eyes to heal?

I got worried around the 3rd day cause my eyes were swelling unevenly and asked the doctor but he said it was normal :)

Now it's 2 weeks since the surgery and the swelling has almost completely gone down, except for a bit but the doctor said it will continue deswelling for some time.

Still avoiding seafood but I ate spicy food already lol! I haven't touched contact lens and will only do so when the doctor says it's safe. Else if I screw up my own eyes I will only have myself to blame! *touch wood*

8. How was the bruising, swelling and pain like?

There was no pain for me at all. Probably just felt like I cried too much the night before. I didn't even take any painkillers they provided cause it really didn't hurt at all :)

Bruising and swelling... was really ugly to the extent I asked myself why I even put myself through that shit, cause I'm the kind who bruises easily.

9. When can I resume my usual activities?

I've read online 3 to 5 days and the doctor said around that range as well but I was kiasu plus I bruised a lot so I rested for about 2 weeks.

If you have any doubts like "Can I put on make up?" etc, please consult the doctor cause it really depends on how quickly your wounds will heal and all and the last thing you want is inflamed eyes!

10. Do I like my eyes now?

Yes, I am extremely pleased. Which is partly why I would like to blog for Dr Tay as well because I feel like he deserves the good review.

I didn't go through any pain at all, but I managed to get the parallel double eyelid effect I've always tried to create with my double eyelid tape, except NOW IT'S PERMANENT :)

It feels like he didn't just do a double eyelid surgery for me, but he mended a really huge gap in my self-esteem. I really feel a lot happier now cause of the surgery and I hope it will stay this way for many years to come!

My eyes are not dolly-ishly huge now, and like I said before the double eyelids are not suppose to change the height of the opening of my eyes, but I really love it! :)

Final disclaimer: I am NOT promoting plastic surgery or saying that you can't love how you were born to look like, it's just that in my case it's a very personal preference and decision. Do also note that plastic surgery is NOT magic and results are not always guaranteed.

There are always risks involved (although the doctors will try to minimize it) and you must be prepared to bear the consequences should anything happen.

For my case, I was afraid of asymmetry or even going BLIND! But I told myself that I wanted to take the chance, and I did. :)

Went for Nuffnang's 5th birthday and many many many famous bloggers were there and it was such a bad day for me to have such light make up on cause I dare not take pictures with them T~T

Maybe some day I finally will get a picture with them... someday...~

Here's a short and simple tutorial for a more mild but eye-catching look :)

I did this tutorial before my double eyelid surgery btw!

First step, the usual foundation, compact powder and contouring.

Next, apply a Matte dark brown eyeshadow all over your lids.

I already have eyelash extensions here so you may choose to apply mascara or false eyelashes later on.

Next, apply a Shimmery Gold/ Bronze eyeshadow under your eyelids to create that doe-eyes effect

Then, use a small eyeshadow brush, line your lower lash line with the same Matte Dark Brown eyeshadow.

Be sure not to cover out all the Shimmery gold/ bronze eyeshadow you applied in the previous step.

This is to create a more 3 dimensional look for your eyes.

Line your eyes with liquid eyeliner

Lastly, apply fake lower lashes :)

Rustic Charms

Felt too cooped up at home trying to recover from my post-surgery eyes the other day and decided to be brave and step out of my house for the first time in... a week!

Sweet sweet freedom!

But okay, freedom doesn't last for long, I'm still stuck at home the next few days haha

I love how all the shops at Arab street are all so quaint and full of character! :)

I had to wear shades throughout, even while eating, so that nobody could see my eyes lol!

It's still bruise-y here!

Arab street is known for all the bulk-purchase of swarovski crystals people use to bling up handphones and all so we were there to get some but....

We went too late and the shops were closed :(

So just an advise, if you don't want to make a wasted trip there, make sure you go there early!

Otherwise heading there for the ambiance of their cafes or sheesha's pretty good too.

But I'm going to share are some habits I have when picking accessories to make your choices easier :)

First of all, look for your favorite symbols!

For me, it's crosses. Definitely crosses :)

Anything with a cross on it probably catches my eye and these are my favorite two picked from CuteLittleStrawberries!

[Plastic Eyes] Day of surgery

I finally did my double eyelid surgery!

It was done with the stitching method and I'll blog about the consultation etcetc soon

after I prepare the loooong post cause I'm trying to remember all the important details people might want to know about or need to be informed of.

Plastic Surgery Part 2

After a loooong period (not exactly, it's just a week) of MIA, I'm finally back!

This is me BEFORE surgery!

No after surgery pictures yet~

Anyway in case you're asking why I haven't been blogging or tweeting much, I had to let my eyes rest for several days so I wasn't able to get onto the computer, sorry about it!

If you haven't already read the previous post about Plastic Surgery Part 1, please do first cause this will be a continuation :)

Apart from double eyelid surgery, I really wanted to do a heck load more to my eyes because I really couldn't stand it being so small initially.

Some other surgeries I've honestly considered:

1) Lateral Epicanthoplasty

2) "Pulling" my eye muscle so my eye opens up bigger (my doctor introduced this to me)
3) Rhinoplasty

4) Chin implants

5) Forehead implants

As you can see, I'm quite greedy (who doesn't want to look perfect?) but obviously I'm not so brave to endure all of that, plus my bank account didn't allow most of it.... so yeah.

1) Lateral Canthoplasty / Epicanthoplasty

I got to know of this surgery because I read Xiaxue's blogpost on plastic surgery previously.

I THINK there are actually several different kinds although the names all look confusingly similar. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Lateral Canthoplasty: An operation performed at the outer corner of the eye where the upper and lower eyelid join together. (definition and picture credit to this website)

Medial Epicanthoplasty: This procedure focuses on the inner corner of the eye, removing the excess fold to reveal the medial portion of the eyes. Medial epicanthoplasty is designed to make the eye appear larger and more open, and may straighten slanted eyes. (definition credit to this website)

Lateral Epicanthoplasty: In addition to focusing on the fold at the inner eye, this procedure also addresses the outer portion of the eye. Lateral epicanthoplasty is done to lengthen the eye and correct a slant that makes an eye appear droopy or tired. (definition credit to this website)

The one I wanted was the third one, Lateral Epicanthoplasty. It's basically like cutting the inner and outer edges of your eye to make it open bigger.

Think along the lines of the diameter of a circle. The bigger the diameter (the width of your eye), the bigger your eye will become. And obviously I would love to do this!

But along the way I chose not to because while googling about plastic surgery, I chanced upon this blog (pictures credit to her as well) where the blogger blogged about her day to day progress with her eyelid surgery.

And this line in particular made me give up all thoughts of getting Lateral Epicanthoplasty.

"Consequently, there is not much visible lengthening effect when the eye is viewed from the front; the slight widening of 1-2 mm is only noticeable in a side profile view. The widened segment has no lashes and so may call attention to itself if makeup is not used as camouflage."

Because obviously it looked like it hurt damn badly. And obviously I wouldn't choose to go through all that pain if the effect isn't going to be really huge. I even took a ruler to see if 1-2mm was going to make a big difference.. and NOPE!

Plus the scars seem like quite a problem and I'm the kind of person who is damn anal about scars. So if the scars are going to be so obvious and I have to waste extra foundation trying to cover it up.. NO WAY.

So I gave up that thought.

And well, some $$$ saved I guess? Haha!

2) "Pulling" my eye muscle so my eye opens up bigger

I apologize for the extremely clumsy way of phrasing this but I really have no idea what it's called in a more plastic surgery-ish term. During one of my consultations, a doctor introduced this to me and told me that double eyelid surgery will NOT change the opening of my eyes and if I wanted the opening of my eyes to be bigger, I will have to pull the muscles of my eye or something.

Now everyone touch the space between the end of your eyebrows and the outer corner of your eyes and pull up slightly. That's roughly the effect you'll get from this surgery.

It does make my eyes open wider but what I was afraid of is the constant SHOCKED/SURPRISED expression hahaha

Can you imagine when I'm sad, and my eyes are still O.O....

Personally I didn't like it so I didn't go for it but I think some people may like it so yep! More $$ saved!

3) Rhinoplasty

I really really like high nose bridges and I know some people tell me that my nose is quite alright already but..... you know the kind of ang moh / mixed blood nose?

So far I haven't heard of anyone who doesn't want that kind of nose so please don't say I'm trying to act ang moh or super greedy etc.

Nobody will be truly completely 100% satisfied with how they look okay~

I initially wanted to post a picture of my side profile to show you guys a comparison, but after pasting this picture here, I shall not embarrass myself LOL!

But! In the end I didn't go for rhinoplasty and didn't go for consultation regarding it because I don't think I'm ready to have a silicone put into my face yet and I really like to blow my nose violently (admit it, some of you do this too, lol!) and I can't stop squeezing blackheads from my nose...

Can you imagine if I screw up my $xxxx nose job by squeezing my blackheads? Really FML.

Shall suck thumb and be satisfied with contouring my nose for now.

And if I'm really unhappy about it, I will photoshop in future!!!

Yay, again, $$$ saved!

4) Chin implants

This might sound really stupid but I think my jaw is really short and even though I'm not overly obese or anything.... I HAVE A DOUBLE CHIN.

I would love to have a more defined jawline and sharper chin

But again, I don't think I can live with leaning on my hand or sleeping with the fear that i might accidentally push it out of shape.

So that's out for me.

I shall live with my double chin and anyway my boyfriend likes to disturb me about it so I'll give him something to tease me about cause sometimes it's quite funny hahah

5) Forehead implants

I really really liked the idea of having deep set eyes and since my side profile of my face is more or less flat (super asian), unlike eurasians or caucasians, the only way to make it look more 3D is to get forehead implants.

But I heard about the huge scar that will be made somewhere along your hair line and hair will never ever grow out of that place..... O.O

No, just... no.

Just a disclaimer, I'm not criticizing people who go for the above mentioned surgeries, I'm just saying that I'm not a fan of it and it's my own face so I get to decide what I want to do even if you think this or that might have been better for me.

Anyway here are some "inspirations" I looked at before I decided what kind of surgery I want to go for.

The pictures below are some of the prettiest famous asian girls (in my opinion) I heard of and obviously they are are good references for girls who are keen in enhancing their looks through cosmetic surgery.

Like you can see what kind of features about them you like and see if it's achievable for your face.

But really, don't go plastic surgery just to look like someone else cause that will be so fucked up.

Can you imagine if you are famous and some girl who looks like you comes up to you and says "I am your biggest fan! I did surgery just to look like you!"?

Won't you feel fucking annoyed by her? Cause I know I would.

Imitation in this case isn't the best form of flattery okay.

So I won't intentionally make myself look like anyone else.

I just want to look like myself but with prettier eyes, nose, mouth, face blahblahblah HAHA

And no matter how much plastic surgery you do, plastic surgery is still plastic surgery, not god.

You WILL still look somewhat like yourself in the end so yeah, gotta be realistic!

In the end, the only surgery I saved enough money for and had enough guts to do was double eyelid surgery.

And I did the stitching method locally, approximately $3k if you consider the medication and whatnot.

I heard it's waaaay cheaper overseas but my parents don't feel safe if they're not with me so yeah!

I will blog about my entire surgery within the next few posts :)

Sorry for the lack of my own pictures for now cause my eyes are still bruised and swelling and I have to wait for it to recover before applying make up cause I'm damn kiasu and scared of complications should my foundation get into the wounds or whatever, LOL! #sosingaporean

Plastic Surgery Part 1

If you guys don't already know, I will soon be going for eyelid surgery because of my own somewhat extreme insecurities about my eyes making me look lethargic all the time, my past with my school mates teasing me because of my eyes for years, personal preference for double eyelids etc etc.

In case you're wondering, my immediate family and Martin are agreeable to it and no one else's opinions matter thereafter, so no issues there.

And if some of you guys want to judge me about how "fake", insecure and "plastic-y" I am, please read this post (http://pxdkitty.blogspot.com/2012/02/natural-beauty-my-ass.html) and realize that I am aware of it and I actually don't mind.

So let's get started about how to go about deciding if you'd like to go for a particular cosmetic surgery.

First of all, unlike the usual misconception, going for plastic surgery is not just about having the money.

Because if I were to hand you $3,000 and tell you to lie down on the surgery bed right this instant to get your eyes cut by a doctor you're totally unfamiliar with, you wouldn't be able to agree readily.

Questions like these will be flooding your mind:

What if it turns out wrong?

How good is this doctor?

What are the risks?

What if I can't go back to how I used to look like because surgery is permanent?

What should I avoid right after the surgery?

How long is the recovery time?

Will there be scars?

What medication / food / fruits can help sped up the recovery?

Will people find out I had surgery?

What will my family think?

Will my friends judge me?

I've heard of failed plastic surgery cases.. what if I look like this????!!!

So yes, mental preparation first before you start saving up for cosmetic surgeries.

Plus, when you are mentally prepared, you'll feel more motivated to save up for your surgery :)

Cause trust me, I've heard a million girls go like "If I had the money, I'd totally go through tons of plastic surgery to look like AngelaBaby" but I've never seen anyone of them go to the extreme to do a ton of surgeries just to look like her, although I'm quite sure some of them can afford it.

By the way, this is AngelaBaby. Asian perfection :)

You really have to be prepared to step out of your comfort zone of your own familiar face of maybe 20 years for something new, and in some cases you cannot turn back.

I know many of us whine everyday and complain about how we look, but truth is we're not going to die if we don't do anything about our faces, we just like to complain and can live by with just being able to complain.

So to actually do something about it actually takes a lot of determination.

So please do not make any impulsive decisions and go for some surgery you aren't well-informed in a heat of the moment. Cause you'll definitely regret it.

How to get mentally prepared for plastic surgery?

With the awesome internet, a lot of things can be found online.

- Check out forums where anonymous people discuss about plastic surgery, which doctor they went to, which they would recommend, what can help recovery time, how long it took to heal, and some of them might even attach pictures

- Read up on blogs (LIKE MINE!) and watch videos by people who share their views and personal experience with plastic surgery

- Watch videos of surgeries

- Check out websites on plastic surgery, the risks, healing time, measures to take before & after surgeries etc

-Ask around for online friends, online friends, bloggers, models etc who have done surgery before (& are open about it) for their opinions and experiences

But asking on the cyber world alone is definitely not going to give you the full assurance

You will really need to talk face to face with people you can trust, like your family members before making any decision

And if after all your "research" online and all the above mentioned and you have a rough idea of what you want, it's time to contact a doctor for consultation.

Personally I think the way doctors or their secretaries reply their clients show a lot about their attitudes.

In my case, I actually called up one of the clinics of my choice to enquire about their surgeries and prices but there was this nurse who was extremely rude to me, and so I stroke that clinic off my consideration.

I can already imagine her ripping the stitches off my eye carelessly if I did my surgery there... *shudder*

Before consultation, please prepare all the questions you really want to ask the doctor cause he's going to charge you for it!

So don't be shy, otherwise it'll be a waste of your approximately $100 for a local doctor (not sure about overseas though).

It's like a ask all you want buffet. Fixed price, just keep asking as many questions as you want.

This will give you a clear idea of how confident the doctor is of the surgery, how experienced he is, you could probably request for pictures of his past patients (like just their eyes, not the entire face of course), their price AFTER GST AND EVERYTHING (some doctors tell you $2k and then it ends up as $2.9k so yah) etcetc.

After consultation, you do not have to confirm the operation with the doctor if you're not comfortable with it.

Be sure to consult a few other doctors to find one whom you are comfortable with because it is extremely important that you are able to make known to the doctor about the results you'd like to achieve and if it is even achievable at all.

And like I said, the first step to getting a surgery done is by getting mentally prepared.

Because plastic surgery is just like any other kinds of surgery, not magic, no 100% guarantees.

For me, it took YEARSSSSSS.

I really cannot emphasize how many years, how much hopes, fear, tears, excitement, confusion and courage it took for me to finally turn random Googling in the middle of the night about "double eyelid surgery" "scars from double eyelid surgery" "double eyelid surgery before after" into a solid plan to save up for surgery and eventually finally finding a suitable doctor for it.

I will be posting up the Part 2 of this post soon, where I'll share about some surgeries I've honestly considered, some which I've decided to not go for and why, some "inspirations" for you girls who are planning to do cosmetic surgeries in future and some other stuff :)

The main point of this series of plastic surgery posts are meant to be informative and to help girls out there who were as lost as I was but have some issues with their faces they'd like to rectify.

So any form of hate comments or immature remarks would be deleted.

This will actually be one of my last blogposts blogging with SMALL TIRED-LOOKING SINGLE EYELIDS....

I will blog about the surgery with before and after pictures so do wait for it!

First surprise, BBQ Chicken is a Korean restautant!!!

Second surprise, BBQ stands for Best of the Best Quality, not barbecue!! :O

Surprised? So am I! :p

BBQ Chicken has now grown to be the No. 1 Franchise brand in Korea, with more than 2,500 stores in South Korea :)

And you know what South Korea is famous for, don't you? K-POP!!! :)

Let's eat what the Korean superstars eat!

Plus, Wonder Girls endorsed for them before, cool right!

And don't worry, BBQ Chicken isn't about fanciful marketing, their dishes are really really good!

I love how you can taste the distinctive fragrance in each dish and they are all unique in their own ways so you'll never get bored of their food!! :)

This Hot Hot Drum definitely left a deep impression!

Licking the sauce alone make me perspire hahah!

Their hot and spicy recipe is straight from Korea.

You really HAVE TO challenge yourself to try this AT LEAST ONCE because it's super yummy, just that it's really spicy so you need to prepare a soft drink beside you :p

BBQ Chicken uses only the best and freshest ingredients so you can be rest assured that the meat are all juicy, tender and extremely yummy! :D

I love it!!

We also tried their aglio olio seafood pasta. Initially, the strong flavors of the dishes above drowned the taste of this.

But after a few mouthfuls, the fragrance of the mildly spicy spaghetti lingered in my mouth and it was refreshingly good! :)

Molten lava cake for a perfect closure to a perfect meal!

And the best part? Watching Korean music videos while eating hahah!

We saw Abracadabra by Brown Eyed Girls' while we were there and Claire and I were going on about how hot Ga-In was :p

BBQ Chicken, indeed the Best of the Best Quality!

And no wonder they're as hot as the Wonder Girls ;)

You know how they say

Money can buy you medicine, but it can't buy you health?

It's extremely true!

And so in this case, prevention is better than cure, and maintaining a good and healthy body is the key!

I actually told my mum about this shop when I got home and she told me "yes! vinegar is good stuff!" and said something like it kills bacteria and it has always been known to be beneficial to our body and all :)

If you guys followed my Twitter, you would have seen me hash tagging #greenwichv and go on about needing a green top and eventually buying one? :p

That's cause 15 bloggers, including myself, took part in the The Greenwich V Experience!

It's like an amazing race with lots of good food, chance to meet awesome people, and of course, prizes!! :D

We were split up into groups of 5. There were 3 teams: Urban, Lifestyle and Village.

Mine was Village team so we were told to dress in green! :D

Rules of the game:

Using the clues given to us, we were supposed to identify the shop, complete the task (most involves eating the food), take pictures and at the end of the day submit 1 BEST picture that BEST REPRESENTS the products or services offered at each shop along with a witty caption!

So we needed to submit a total of 11 BEST photos!

And for each wrong guess of the shop's name, one person in the team would have to do either 10 jumping jacks or push-ups or squats!

Hahaha we all did the punishment in the most awkward of places, like in a restaurant, while walking, directly outside a shop and all, LOL!

We decided to pose like Wonder Girls outside their shop since they endorsed for it before.

Like burning hot cause it just got served to us, and I was jumping all around like "amagaddd hothothot" while we were getting ready with the poses to take the pictures, LOL!

I think it was super sporting of the guys to pose with us as well heheh!

Although we were super full by the time we ate everything, THIS LAVA CAKE THEY SERVED WAS SOOO GOOD!

Our next stop, Fuyogi Hut! :)

Our task was to ask them about their products and to take a picture!

Their store mainly sells organic products and lots of other products that are beneficial to health.

Particularly their vinegar!

You're supposed to pour 1:10 vinegar to plain water proportion and drink it after dinner.

It serves as detox and is good for your health! :)

So we chose this picture, with the caption as:

Next stop, Jan & Elly English Language School!

Our task was to try out a short phonics lesson by one of their teachers!

He made us spin the rainbow wheel and made us pronounce the words written on it and if we knew how to differentiate which was in British spelling and which was in American spelling,

i.e. "airplane" and "aeroplane"

It was quite a wake up call to most of us cause we honestly didn't know! Hahah!

They gave us a voucher for a one time complimentary lesson at their school! I guess we totally need it! :P

Moving on, KOPI Seletar!

Thankfully it's our famous local dessert, Ice Kachang, cause it was super warm outside!!

We wanted to emphasize on the wide variety of food available at KOPI Seletar and so our team took some utensils and were looking really hungry for the pictures! :D

Initially, we wanted to make use of this glass panel with KOPI Seletar printed onto it for our best shot.

But the reflection kind of made it hard to see their faces even after several tries~

But it was so super funny trying to communicate with them when they're inside and I was trying to tell them to move here and there BUT THEY COULDN'T HEAR ME cause of the glass.... hahahah!!!

So finally we gave in and took a shot indoors cause we were running short of time~

Next, Phoenix Medical Group!

Our task was to have a team member try out their best seller, facial wash!

Immediately we asked William to do it because the girls all had make up on :p

And plus he mentioned that his face felt oily and sticky from all that running around..

LOL this scene was hilarious because we all looked like we were visiting him at the hospital or something

And William said that he felt shy cause so many pairs of eyes were on him (including camera crew, Omy.sg staff, staff from Phoenix Medical Group)

Phoenix Medical Group basically does services like botox, aesthetics care etc!

And they said it's good to start young!

At this point, we were like, "Nigel, steal the menu! Don't smile you look too kind" ahahaha

Recently I've seen a lot of people feeling upset on Twitter and all, talking about how the one they love doesn't return their feelings...

Wait, have you even told him/her of your feelings?

People aren't mind or heart readers, and most people don't actually know what you're thinking of unless you tell it to them.

You can't expect your "hints" to work, because to you it may be the most obvioussssss sign of your feelings but to that special someone it isn't.

So if you love someone, just muster up all your courage and confess to them of your love.

But obviously, pick a good time!

Not when it's 5am in the morning and he's dead tired and asleep, not when you guys are rushing for an upcoming project deadline or exam, not when s/he's fucking hungry and about to throw a huge tantrum etc.

CONFIRM GET REJECTED.

And this is why those "opportunist" guys who console the girls they like RIGHT AFTER the girl broke up or got rejected are smart!

Cause they know that that's when the girls are most vulnerable and need someone to be there for them.

And chances are that the girls will suddenly realize who's good to them and who's the jerk, and most likely fall for the opportunists.

The girls found someone good, and the guys got the girls of their dreams, win-win!

Wondered around JP and found this pretty shop, didn't manage to snap much pictures before I was stopped by the staff again.

Sigh.

I really don't get what's the deal with shops preventing people from taking pictures of their shop layout. Personally if someone likes how my shop looks I would be more than happy!

To our surprise, we found this "street" full of Japanese restaurants at the basement.

Previously when I was there by myself I didn't even explore that level so I was really excited!

It looked so much like the streets in Osaka with all the decorations and lanterns and 3D giant sushis!

Martin later joined us for a quick dinner cause it was his night's out from camp.

Tough choice between all the restaurants available but most of them were packed

In the end we settled for Kushin Bo cause it had the fastest queue :)

$39.90++ per person for sushi buffet, it's alright considering the awesome quality of their food and the wide range of stuff to choose from!

Every customer there took overflowing plates of crabs, baked lobsters, scallops, salmon belly and what not!

I mean how could you resist? b:

Chocolate fondue!

I actually have a really strong urge to drink from it but obviously I couldn't haha!

It was a long and arduous journey (okay, not really..) for Peishi and I in search of Millenia Walk the other day simply because...

we kept getting lost. FOL.

We were looking for this particular cupcake shop set up by Daniel Ong and Jamie Teo called Twelve Cupcakes because I wanted to try them! :)

Boarding!

I was greeted by a happy looking dragon mascot! Haha so cute!

We were told that the dress code was Oriental so I wore the same dress that I had on during the first day of Chinese New Year.

BUT little did I know that no one else followed the dress code :( LOL!

And then we were seated for the performances lined up for us! :)

First up, lion dance!

The suites were indeed extravagant and extremely breath taking.

It looked like a palace and we were all just totally in awe of the splendor of it!

And I really couldn't resist camwhoring hahah

Can you believe they even have a hair salon on the ship? :D

I think my mum will totally love this haha! Wherever we go (overseas or new places) she'll always aim for hair salons and go for their hair wash and stuff!

My favorite part of all, the outdoor area and the swimming pool!

So super pretty!

Did you guys notice anything special about the water slide? :)

It goes OUT of the ship at the part where it's transparent so you can see the water below!!

"Oh you're so fake hiding behind those thick layers of make up"

"You must look really ugly without make up"

"Contact lens, fake lashes, thick make up, photoshop.. how fake can you get"

And the all time classic,

"Natural beauty is the best"

And sorry little miss PERFECT, not everyone can step out of the house looking as drop dead gorgeous as you do without make up. *rolls eyes*

Anyway, to all naysayers, you want to be au naturel right?

Do the following steps:

Don't shave your armpits

Don't pluck your eyebrows

Don't put on clothes or even underwear

Don't dye your hair

Don't cut your hair unless you're using your teeth to bite it off

Don't even bathe with shampoo or body foam, just jump into the Singapore river and wash yourself there

Don't brush your teeth

Don't comb your hair unless it's with a fishbone

File your nails with some sharp rock, don't use a nail clipper

Kill yourself and be reborn and tell the doctor to not inject the vaccination into your ass cause the very moment that shot of "man-made immunity" shit goes into your body, you're not au naturel anymore.

Natural beauty, pfft.

Having said that, I don't think there's anything wrong with make up, photoshop or even plastic surgery.

The only concern with plastic surgery is probably just the risks of the surgery going wrong, just like how people are afraid make up will clog your pores and spoil your skin etc.

But it's funny how some people are alright with make up, but the moment a girl goes for plastic surgery, she's "plastic" and completely fake.

Um, excuse me, plastic surgery is just like make up but more permanent so who are you to judge others as "fake" if you yourself apply make up?

Think about it, having a boob job is as "fake" as wearing push up bras or even bras

Having an eyelid surgery is as "fake" as pasting double eyelid stickers

Getting a nose job is as "fake" as contouring your nose with a bronzer

you get my drift.

Every one is vain and every one wants to look good.

If make up, cosmetic surgery or photoshop can help boost someone's confidence, make them feel pretty and make them happier, I don't see why not.

It's your own life and you should make your own choices, not others. (Just make sure that you are responsible enough to bear any potential consequences)

Just like guys, they spray a heck load of fucking choking cologne, wear branded jeans and shit, enlarge their ear holes, leave their hair really long, work out at the gym, get inked etc, but no one says they're fake

but guys in turn say that girls are deceptive for applying make up etc?!

How is that fair?

But do you know why we all try to dress up and look good?

Cause we all want to be loved and admired.

Who likes being ignored, called ugly all the time, getting hurt and being rejected over and over again? (unless you're masochistic then that's a different story)

Ask yourself fucking honestly, if you saw these people on the streets, who would you treat more politely/ better? The "before" or "after"?

Precisely my point.

If a pretty girl accidentally bumps into you, you might smile at her and say "it's okay".

But when a bigger sized girl who's not as pretty bumps into you, you'd most likely "TSK" at her, glare at her and then rant on twitter about how much you hate ugly girls?

This is how society works sweetheart.

Better looking people have better lives, which is why we're all trying to better ourselves.

You can preach "don't judge a book by its cover" to others,

but ask yourself, if you saw a good looking girl/guy for the first time, which "book" will you be interested to find out more about first? :)

And anyway, just to clear up, there is nothing "natural" about natural looking make up.

It's still the same foundation, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lip gloss etc.

It's called natural LOOKING make up for a reason.

I would equate it to those push up bras that are of better cutting and hence "natural looking" cause it makes the enhanced boobs look real when it actually isn't.

In this sense, everyone is fake in some way or another

so stop giving people a hard time calling them "fake" just because we wish we look better and we're doing something about it!

More love, less hate!

Anyway, I know I might probably get some kind of negative comments for saying this on my blog but I will say it nevertheless.

I've mentioned before that I want to go for eyelid surgery (because my small eyes have been affecting my self-esteem since yearsssss back), so I've actually finally contacted a doctor to book a consultation session to ask him about the surgery costs, down time, risks etc! :)

I might be going to a few doctors just to compare and see which one I'm more comfortable with.

I will update you guys at this space about my progress for those girls who are interested as well.

A lot of damage$$$$ done that day cause I spent a bomb on clothes for myself as well as for my boyfriend.

Aiyo all my ang bao money~~~

Ended up super super tired and I died for a few hours the moment I laid down onto my bed.

SHOPPING IS AN EXTREMELY CHALLENGING SPORT OKAY, don't judge!!

Alright, before I talk about Essensuals Bugis, here are a few interesting hairstyles I would really like to try out soon!! :)

Hope this gives you girls some inspirations on what to do to your hair too!

I'm just waiting for my hair to grow longer before I experiment more with it, it's taking forever, gaaaahhhhh~

Rainbow hair and ombre hair, super dope!!!

Looks so good even when it's tied up!!

If you noticed, most of these hairstyles I posted WILL require BLEACHING.

And I can't stress enough how damaging BLEACHING your hair is, and it's WORSE if it's not professionally done.

But the results when professionally done, super worth it! :)

And I can assure that Essensuals Bugis does bleaching properly (I wrote about it in this post) and also the awesome Japanese Spa TREATMENT after the bleaching and dyeing to keep your hair luscious, voluminous and healthy! :)

I know young girls all want to save money.. but speaking from personal experience,

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT

I repeat DO NOT DIY (do it yourself) and buy some cheap bleach and dye or go to some cheapo hair saloon to bleach and dye your hair.

The consequences are super NOT WORTH IT.

Once upon a time.....

A girl called Rachell, 18 years old, wanted to dye her hair hot pink.

Her mindset was that you're only young once, do it now or never.

But she decided to be cheapo and went to her neighborhood saloon (not very professional) to do her hair

and they used this extremely PAINFUL bleach that hurt her scalp during the process.

She got her pink hair, yes, but not only did her scalp suffer....

HER LONG PRETTY HAIR WAS GONE TOO and her hair became really thin..

Apparently the cheap bleach burnt a huge ton of her hair and the crown of her hair became really really frizzy and short, effing gross.

To make the frizziness less obvious, she dyed it back black but it was STILL frizzy and short.

Only time could heal such a terrible damage.

As you can see in this picture my hair was extremely gross and disgusting.

I can't even believe that's me, UGH!

Regretted going to a cheap neighborhood saloon to bleach and dye my hair and dared not bleach my hair for YEARS.

Until I got to know Essensuals Bugis (Read how well they handled the bleach with my RED hair!).

As promised, here's a post on my shoe collection!

Actually this isn't everything yet but I can't be bothered to arrange them nicely anymore...

Like I mentioned previously, these are all cheap shoes. No brands no nothing... and IF they look like those branded ones, they're just cheap knock offs.

I'm not earning my own money to buy branded shoes yet so I shall resist~

This post is going to be quite senseless.. just me showing off some of my favorite shoes and telling you some stuff about them.....

but if you don't like Shoe Stories then just go watch Toy Story and don't read the words in this post okay~~~ hahaha

(I got most of these shoes waaay back so there's no way the blogshop is still selling it so no point telling you the blog url anyway, that is if I can even remember...)

I got this JC Clinic inspired wedges from a local blogshop at about $30+, I saw it in Hong Kong at $10 and was so tempted to buy the exact same one just because it's cheap... lol! But I didn't in the end cause I spent a lot of money already

Hurts-like-a-bitch level: 4/10

My new H&M Lace up inspired wedges from local blogshop at $30+. I got a pair 3 years back and it's still surviving but I bought a new one just in case cause it's soooo comfortable!

The new one has a tougher material and shorter strings which I don't really fancy, but it's still pretty much as comfortable as my original favorite!

Hurts-like-a-bitch level: 1/10

One of my most impulsive buys. TOPSHOP boots which cost me like $210 but I wanted it there and then and it was the last pair in my size!!! T~T

And the number of times I've actually worn it out..... ONCE.

Simply because..

Hurts-like-a-bitch level: 9/10

Plus the fact that high cut boots make my calves look shorter and I don't have really long legs to begin with, so my legs look extremely stumpy with this pair. AND IT HURTS LIKE CRAZY, UGH.

I would consider this pair of Leopard wedges as one of my luckiest buys online so far!

I got it at $28, preloved from a local blogshop during the period where leopard wedges were the IN thing!

I didn't even care that it was 1 size bigger! I can always stuff some sole paddings in and not have to pay $50 for a pair of leopard wedges from those rip off sellers :P

Hurts-like-a-bitch level: 4/10

Another one of my impulsive buys simply because I saw Jeffree Star tweet "if the soles aren't red I ain't wearing it" followed by a picture of him with a pair of Louboutins and I'm obsessed with him. So when I saw this pair of Christian Louboutin inspired studded pumps in Hong Kong at 80SGD I went crazy. But the price bugged me for helluva long time (and they refused to give me any discounts, bitchhhh) so I combed through the entire Nu Ren Jie 4 times only to go back to the same shop and pay $80 for it cause I can't find it anywhere else!

But I'm damn glad I bought it anyway, cause it adds on to the pretty factor in my shoe collection cause I'm all wedges and platforms if you noticed.

But you know what's the most evil part about this pair of heels?

When I try to strut like a model (don't pretend you don't do it too!) and walk in a straight line, cause I can't open my leg really wide while I'm in a dress, I may sometimes accidentally KICK my own ankle with the other foot. AND YES, THE STUDS. HURT. LIKE. FFFFFFFFF.

Well even without the studs... It's still quite impossible for me to walk in this properly cause of the steepness of it, the sense of insecurity caused by the lack of cloth for more grip like my other wedges and the fear of twisting my ankle severely.

Hurts-like-a-bitch level: 9.5/10

They say never judge a book by its cover.

I say this motherfucking wedges looks pretty comfortable but each shoe it self is a demon's mouth.

I walked out with these pair of heels one day and I regretted 2 minutes after I left the house.

Blisters started forming by then and I had to LIVE WITH IT cause I was late for something.

I swear the blisters were soooooo bloody huge the liquid inside them could collectively prepare a pot of soup for a family of 5.

Hurts-like-a-bitch level: 7/10

I bought this pretty Little Red from Japan, which I mentioned in my Japan Haul Video previously :)

It was on sale cause it was winter season and all the winter boots were in demand and these babies were on clearance hahah! Got them for $15 but I haven't worn them out yet!

They look kind of too feminine and cute for me though.... but they were cheap so what the heck! :)

I might have possibly bought this pair of Jeffrey Campbell inspired Tick wedges when it was popular some years back at $60 online but it was so long back I can't remember exactly already..

It doesn't hurt thaaaat much and it's quite really pretty.. not sure why I don't wear it much either, lol!

Ah-hah! Finally a picture of the demonia / punk boots I spoke of in my Japan Haul video!

Got this huge ass monstrous baby that towers over all my other shoes in my shoe closet at $100+ and I bought it because I saw similar ones in Singapore selling at $300. Fuck you rip offs!!! LOL

This pair is 3 sizes bigger than my feet but it was the last pair and I really wanted it.... LOL :S

I really want a lot of things, I knowwwwww~

Haven't worn this out yet! Pretty sure it'll make my feet look totally stumpy and short but it's always fun to have huge monstrous shoes cause it makes me feel big and powerful and I can stomp on the feet of anyone I dislike in public places without fear lol whutttt

I bought this next pair of strappy wedges from OhSoFickle at Far East Plaza last last year!

HAHAHA I HAVE THIS FUNNY MEMORY TO SHARE.

The night I bought this pair of shoes, I was out with my EX-BOYFRIEND and his friends and we had a huge argument IN PUBLIC (so embarrassing, but I started it lol bitchhhh) over some extremely trivial matter. But anyway, I WALKED OFF REALLY QUICKLY from him and he chased after for awhile but he couldn't abandon his friends so he went back to them, leaving me by myself.

And guess where I walked to? Far East Plaza.

And what did I do? BUY WEDGES AT OHSOFICKLE, LOL!!!!!

And my ex-boyfriend kept calling me and I texted him "Come to Far East Plaza OhSoFickle in 5 mins or else we're done"

AND HE RAN ALL THE WAY AND HE WAS PANTING HAHAHAHA FK I WASSSSSS SUCH A TERRIBLE SCARY FUCKERY GIRLFRIEND BACK THEN HAHAHAHHAHA

Okay, memories. I'm so sorry I was such a terrible girlfriend. That boy was suay to have been my exbf lol please don't learn it's not a good thing at all in fact if i saw a girl do that to her boyfriend right now I'd wish I could whack the living daylights out of her lol. Anyway, it's my ex-boyfriend!

MIU MIU inspired satin heels!

I swore I must have been insane.

I actually paid $180 to a BLOGSHOP cause they were one of the few to spree these in first.

These satin heels were in trend together with those swallows motifs which are still popular now.

And it pissed me off greatly when more blogshops held the spree and it became like $60 even for those with the crystalsssss. FML :(

But back then I cashed out my Nuffnang moolahs so it covered quite a bit of the total cost! :) yay!

Till now, these are my only "formal wear" shoes cause apparently all my other shoes don't look matured or professional enough. knn.

Not much of a story behind this except I met up with the seller at Outram Park MRT.

I was lucky cause this was her only pair of in stock cause the rest were on preorder... 1 size bigger than my feet again, lol!

I bought these from Hong Kong and at the airport my luggage got detained for having spiky shoes and my hell angel's inspired brass knuckle ring :S

OKAY, last shoe for the post cause I'm too lazy to talk about the other shoes hahah!

I got this from DirtyBling.livejournal.com and it's my "safest" pair of flat shoes so far.

But I just kind of really really like the feeling of being elevated off the ground by a few inches of pure padding and lies, which is why I don't wear normal shoes much :X

Alright somehow this was supposed to be a tiny tiny short and simple post but I have no idea why in the end it became so long..

In conclusion:

Girls would go shopping in freaking killer heels for hours just to look good
Girls would fake a smile and strut like a supermodel to look pretty although their shoes are killing them with each step
Girls would pay shitload$$ for shoes by scrimping and saving on their meals
Girls would wear shoes that aren't their size just because they like the design
Some tall girls would actually feel sad about their height and wish they were shorter just to wear mega high heels (Someone told me about this before.. okay then I guess being short ain't that bad...?)

I guess you guys must be sick and tired of all the Chinese New Year related posts cause everyone's posting about them so I'll keep it all within one post.

Met up with my banana bunny babies (Peishi, Naomi, Noah) at Bugis for our REUNION DINNER the other day! :p

Knowing that we'll just only be at Bugis, I dressed down in teeshirt and sandals, tied my hair up and didn't do my make up properly (which I later on regretted like mad... read on!)

I can't remember the name of the store, but Bugis (I think it's Liang Seah Street to be exact) is filled with all these steamboat buffets which cost about $18 to $20 per person, all you can eat!

They have all sorts of good stuff such as beef shabu shabu, scallops, crabs etc.

Noah took this mountain of meat.

HAHAHAHAHA PEISHI, THIS IS WHY YOU ARE SO TINY! :p

Half way through our dinner the best thing ever happened!

It was soooo epic we were like crazy ass hardcore fans and people were staring at us as we ran up to Xiaxue lol!

And Noah the lagger came running out after that and was like "OMG Xiaxue!!"

Now that I think of it, I really hope we didn't come off as creepy or stalkerish...... O.O

But she was super nice and friendly for letting them take pictures with her although she might have been heading off to somewhere else ♥♥♥♥♥

And I said "letting THEM" and not "letting US" because I didn't ask for a picture with her cause I looked soooo ugly in my teeshirt and sandals and terrible make up omg T~T

Although I don't have a picture with her, I was so happy to be able to see her in person and say hi to her :')

We were all star-strucked and excited even after we went back to the steamboat shop (where we abandoned all our iPhones, wallets and other valuables) to continue our dinner! ^~^

From this I realized that Xiaxue is really really friendly and I love her so so so much more now!

And I think she's really patient!

Cause I won't be surprised if you told me 100 people go up to her everyday asking for photos.

But most importantly, she didn't put on any airs at all to people like us whom she's never even met before and she didn't like "tsk" at us or ask us to hurry up at all! :')

to borrow their washrooms.

Creatures of the Night

I went to the Singapore Night Safari for the first time in my entire life.

I WAS SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AND IMPRESSED!

And it also made me feel like I was a tourist of a foreign country I've never been to before!

All along I've always heard rumors like "the animals just hide and won't come out" and it'll be a "waste of money" and such. But after visiting the place for myself, I can safely say that those are called rumors for a reason - They're totally untrue!

I enjoyed myself with my boyfriend and the Night Safari and would definitely recommend you guys to visit too :)

Some tips: Bring along a portable fan because you might have to queue for the tram on weekends so make yourself comfortable. Bring along a water bottle in case you get thirsty and can't find a vending machine. Bring enough cash with you because the entrance fee is $32 inclusive of the tram ride and the food there is slightly more pricey.

But for the enriching and super fun experience, I'd say it's money well-spent!

After taking the relaxing tram ride, my boyfriend and I explored the entire place by ourselves, walking through enclosed areas with BATS flying around, had a good laugh seeing a Hyena TRIP on its own feet and run away embarrassed (super ironic and epic!!), watch a Fishing Cat prey on an unsuspecting fish LIVE, see the elephants "dance" for us without any zoo keeper's instructions, saw a baby elephant cuddle beside its mother in deep slumber... :')

Seriously one of the best days of my life.

*****There are NO pictures of the animals in the Night Safari in this post because we're not allowed to use flash photography and the pictures are extremely blur without flash.

This means that you'll really have to visit the Night Safari on your own if you want to see some of the cutest and some of the most majestic animals! ;)

Check out the guitar my boyfriend "pimped up" by himself :)

My opinion:

I think that the BEST part of this entire concept would be the self-collection of parcels at Orchard!

Cause it's super convenient for you to collect your items WHILE you're out shopping at town,

unlike having to meet at Bukit Batok because the blogshop owner stays there while you stay at Pasir Ris.

Plus it'll be super safe because no loss of parcels will occur, unlike during mailing. And you know that awful feeling when your parcel arrives at your doorstep DAMAGED

or if it doesn't even arrive at all and nobody can be blamed except yourself for not opting for registered postage?

This is why the new MIYOC Retail Outlet would solve our problems as shoppers with their self collection at such a convenient location!

Also, personally I think it's really annoying whenever I go to the physical store of an online boutique and their online items are DIFFERENT from those at their physical store! Then I'll have to wait for postage as well as head down to the store if I want the best of both worlds :(

Some facial updates for today!

My latest facial treatments at Beauti Instinct are Roller Treatments, as recommended by Auntie Rita. She says a lot of customers love this treatment :)

Basically they will use this spiky roller thing together with a customized cocktail (suited for your skin) to make your face more radiant, reducing pigmentation and scars.

Personally I don't think it hurts a lot, it just feels like something spiky massaging your face.

Endure. For the sake of beauty :)

As you can see the scarrings have significantly reduced since months ago :)

And I don't have huge ass evil pimples as much anymore!!! Maybe just 1 big one in like 3 months?

The rest are usually just clogged pores caused by my make up but I can't help applying make up so.... I'll live with it! :x

Goth Gyaru Inspired Make Up Tutorial

Today I'll be posting the tutorial I promised previously!

Here's the final look :)

It's sort of like a Goth Gyaru inspired make up if it makes any sense..

I'm not really good at the Japanese terms but since the post is about Japanese cosmetics I just thought i'll throw in some, haha!

So please pardon me if I made any error in the Japanese terms etc.

The main focus will be the extremely dark eyes while everything else remains the same :)

First step, start of with your usual double eyelid sticker, foundation, concealer, loose powder and contouring.

(I have eyelash extensions on so I won't have to paste falsies)

Next, using an eyeshadow brush, dip it into the Melliesh Eyeshadow Liner Set and tap off the excess to prevent fallouts.

Fill up the Black Eyeshadow section (as shown below) using the Melliesh Eyeshadow Liner Set and the Brown Eyeshadow area with your usual Brown Eyeshadow.

Next, using the brush provided in the Melliesh Eyeshadow Liner Set, line the bottom of your eyes as shown below.

This is to darken and exaggerate your eyes for the gothic look.

Using DollyWink Liquid Eyeliner in Black, line your eyes as usual and wing it out at the outer corner.

Using Koji Dolly Wink No.5 Real Nude (I know I mentioned I'll be using DollyWink No.6 previously but I changed my mind, oops sorry!), paste them carefully under your eyes to give an illusion of bigger eyes.

Fill up your brows, contour your face, add some blush and you're done! :)

And there you have your Goth Gyaru inspired make up.

I straightened my hair, added black clip on extensions and clipped up the sides to complete the look!

A Singapore Love Story

Today I'll be sharing with you guys briefly about a highly relatable book based on local context that made my boyfriend and I laugh, cry and reflect deeply upon - A Singapore Love Story by Low Kay Hwa.

First of all, I heard of Low Kay Hwa, a Singapore Novelist, since I was about 15 because there was this particular (online) book of his back then called I Believe You which left me an extremely vivid impression of the name 'Low Kay Hwa' as an impressive writer. Those of you who aren't too much younger than me should have heard of his name before I'm sure :)

And I am so thankful that recently I got to read another of his latest novel, A Singapore Love Story.

As much as I want to, I'll have to resist posting all the juicy parts because I don't want to spoil it too much for you guys :p

I mentioned above that the book made both my boyfriend and I laugh because he was drawing and I was reading the book aloud to him. I was the only one who cried at the end of the book though, but I bet my boyfriend would have teared too if not for his man pride haha!

Anyway, this book tugged at our heartstrings and we were immensely drawn to the book because the first few chapters of the story book felt as if it was OUR love story.

I know I haven't blogged about how Martin and I met before and all.. well.. soon :)

The coincidence between both our lives and the 2 main characters' was amusing and flattering to be honest.

Martin was quite the delinquent, and was from ITE. On the other hand, I was protected by my parents since I was young, taught to study real hard so that I can earn $10k a month in future as an accountant, they drove me everywhere, and I was from (Victoria) JC.

When we first got together, we faced the exact same difficulties the couple in the story did!

Friends would ask if I mind his education level and what if I became the bread winner of the family, people would start judging once they knew about how different our education backgrounds were yada yada.. As far as I remembered, not many gave us their blessings.

(If you asked me, there's essentially nothing wrong with ITE. I'll say that the fault lies with the stereotypes people have towards students from ITE.)

Just a disclaimer, I've been with Martin for 17 months now and I personally don't think education levels affect my relationship with him. I guess he's probably just lazy to study but he has an extremely high EQ which I fell in love with and NO guys in my former school (NUS) could even come close to that. So don't judge a book by its cover!

And if I ever were to blog about my love story with Martin, I would HAVE TO include this extract in cause this is exactly how Martin makes me feel :)

My obsession with leopard prints and all things leopard can't seem to cease even after all these time, my wardrobe can probably be an official Leopard Zoo by now.

Eyelash Extensions

As you all know, I've always tried ways and means to get double eyelids from double eyelid sticker, double eyelid glue, mezaik fibre etc #sadlifeofamonolided

And recently from Hannah, I learnt that Eyelash Extensions can actually give you double eyelids! She tried it and after the eyelash extensions came off she had double eyelids omg :O

So I decided to go to Milly's to get them and try it for myself! :)

I chose Milly's because they're known for their Extensions, Manicure & Pedicure etc

and I've went to several shops for hair extensions before and Milly's one lasted the longest and didn't end up in knots and all! :)

I present you my sparse and unimpressive natural lashes :(
I never ever bother with applying mascara on my lashes because they never seem to listen no matter how much I coat them or curl them, so I've always been reliant on false lashes to date.

The staff asked me to choose the length of the lashes I wanted and I chose the longest one!

You can choose how thick you want the lashes to be but most importantly you need to choose the length of the lashes first :)

And then we proceeded with the extension! How exciting :) :)

The lash extensions were delicately attached to my real lashes one by one!

It took about half an hour in total and I was impressed by how carefully the staff did the entire extension process for me.

Initially I thought it would be uncomfortable but it didn't even hurt a bit!

Halfway there...

And I'm done!

My natural lashes are totally concealed by the extensions so it looks perfect!

With proper care, it'll last a month or so.

So far I love my lash extensions by Milly's and I'm not regretting one bit!

x It looks gorgeous (as pretty as my favourite DollyWink falsies)

x It's totally comfortable, doesn't affect my vision or putting on / removing contact lens etc

x I get to save $$ on buying new falsies all the time

x My sister says I look like I have make up on when I'm at home with ONLY the extensions

x I could see double eyelids right after extending my eyelashes (no need for $2k++ surgery if the double eyelids stays too!)

x My brother says the extensions make my eyes look less small! :p

I'm being as gentle to them as possible and keeping my lashes clean and all :)

Anyway I'm sharing this with you all because I know there are many girls out there with small eyes or single eyelids.

Trust me, extending your eyelashes will save A LOT of preparation time for you.

You can even head out without make up!

Had dinner for the first time at Imperial Treasure the other day with my boyfriend :)

Imperial Treasure Noodle & Congee House

Sat–Sun: 10.30am – 10pm

Cause we were starving and didn't want to bother with choosing ala carte dishes,

we ordered the Dinner set for 2 :)

It cost us about $74 in total (with GST+++)

Would recommend this for people who wish to treat their parents to some good Chinese food~
Fuss-free with ordering and it tasted awesome!

The set consisted of a BBQ Combo set for 2

Stir-fried prawns (they were extremely huge and juicy!) with peas and carrots

Fried fish with special sauce

Not sure what soup this was but it tasted super good!

We each had 1 bowl each :)

Yang chou fried rice for 2! I couldn't get enough of this!

And for desserts, a bowl of honey dew with sago each :)

All in all, I'd rate the food 4/5 cause it was really yummy!! ^~^

Definitely will be nice to bring your family here on special occasions :)

Anyway here's a picture of me in shades cause I just had facial before dinner and didn't have any make up on..

Meet my new favorite bag from http://www.shopdiygalore.com/ :)

The material is awesome! I love how it's the matte PVC and not those super glossy sort.

And who can resist the snake prints on the inspired Chanel logo? :)

Anyway I had dinner with baby at some random kopitiam the other day and we ordered beef steak.

It was surprisingly good and extremely filling given that it was only $12 per plate!

Trust me, it looks good but it tasted waaaaaay better!

And it turned out medium rare, as I had requested, unlike some other restaurants charging more than twice the price (whose names shall not be mentioned) which gave me WELL-DONE beef.

After dinner, we went to Courts to browse for some furniture for his room.

They seem to be having some pre-Chinese New Year sale now so go take a look if you like :)

And I randomly saw this super cute unicorn pillow there and I bought it!

In case you're wondering, it cost $18.90!

They have other designs such as Dolphins, Penguins, Bumble bees etc.

Baby's POP

Along with his parents, I attended my boyfriend's POP (Passing Out Parade) at Float @ Marina Bay the other day.

I only had a quick hour of shut eye the night before and got up at 5:00am to prepare, and expectedly, I was late in meeting his parents!

They were waiting outside my home at 6.30am cause we were supposed to head out together.

So as not to let them wait too long for me, I brought all my cosmetics, comb and towel (for my wet hair) and dolled myself up on the car!

Must have been quite a sight for the cars passing by if they managed to look in.

Everything was going fine until.. THE FALSE LASHES.

Can you imagine how much of a feat it was trying to paste false eyelashes on a jerky bumpy cab? Epic!

But I managed to do it somehow, so thank goodness!

To be very honest, I just realized that Singapore's kinda real pretty.

Plus it was about 7am when we arrived at the Float and the weather was still pretty alright...

But alas, good things never last for long.

The moment we got onto our seats at the grandstand, I could've sworn all my pores were screaming.

THE. SUN. OMG.

I was proud of my baby to have graduated from BMT but it was quite disappointing that the parade was done in such a large scale,

it left me no chance of testing my skills of spotting him using my camera's zoom function :(

I mean you have to admit they just look like blocks from where I was seated!

And I wasn't even at the far end.

"Because a boy like you's impossible to find...."

in a sea of green army men :(

Maybe Singaporeans wouldn't have such fiery tempers if the Sun showed us more mercy...

I could feel the top layer of my skin becoming crisp already from all that baking under the Sun.

Look at all their disgruntled faces! Hahah

Everyone couldn't wait for the parade to end so they can collect their soldier and quickly head home~

Anyway, I guess Singaporeans are never known to be shy in expressing their dissatisfactions.

In between the parade, a passing cloud managed to block out the Sun for a brief few minutes and there actually were applauses and cheers coming from the grandstand.

And when the cloud drifted on, I heard people sighing "aiyoooo" and it was so amusing!!!

After much burning (literally) agony, here's my soldier whom I'm really proud of :')

I finally met up with my bbysis, Hayley, after like how many monthsssss of not seeing her :')

We went to Cineleisure to have sushi at Nihon Mura :)

We initially wanted to go for ala carte, but then the buffet was about $27 in total per person and you could order whatever you want.. so we went for the buffet instead cause we were STARVING! :)

People used to say we look alike years back, but now my bbysis is all grown up and is damn damn hot! I LOSE~ hehehe :x

We could order anything we wanted so we just spam lol!

Ended up super full sia wtf :S

The staff even told us "having buffet? good luck!" hahaha

And we even ordered ice cream at the end though our tummies were super close to exploding, lol!!

Then we went to shop at Cineleisure.. the clothes all so nice wahlaoehhh.
